It turned out to be a little different from my expectations that were based on the description. I didn't get any hints of amber (or vanilla) that I was really hoping for as so few do amber very well. For my somewhat unreliable nose, there was a definite deep-forest loomy soil mingled with musk scent. It's definitely a masculine scent.
After trying several sticks, i came to decide that the amber and vanilla must soften those scents as opposed to being directly detectable. The scent lingers a long time, and it's very "awakening", probably not something you want to burn before you go to bed.
I hope they keep this scent. I plan to buy it again.

These are one of the best wood incenses incenses I've tried. Some have been a bit too smoky and overwhelm the senses, but this provides a very pleasant experience. The wood is not at all cloying, and the vanilla helps provide depth and balance by infusing warmth and sweetness. Quite expensive, not going to replace my every day incense, but a nice occasional splurge.
